All I Really Want Is A Reply
Is it so hard?
I’m a solopreneur. I run my own teeny-tiny start-up company. Small (it’s just me) but with big ambitions.
We make stuff, we come up with ideas, we invent things. We’ve made great progress in every area. Exciting projects, growth, new opportunities — it’s all happened over the last couple of years.
When you’re a tiny company of one you can move fast. You can hire freelancers quickly and run projects concurrently.
Speed of communication is a powerful tool. Ask the right question. Get a clear quick answer. Take action. Build momentum.
Meanwhile in a big corporate organisation, people are having meetings about meetings and sending a form back to the department three floors below because it hasn’t been filled in by the right person in the right way.
But every once in a while it flips. There’s a period of time when people we’re dealing with lose the ability to do something so simple — communicate.
Road Block
It goes like this. I’ll have a meeting with a person, or a company. They’ve approached me, so clearly they are ready to move. The chat goes well and we agree next steps.
I send an email after the meeting to get things going.
