I’ve worked in audio for over 20 years. First in radio, then in podcasting. I worked out very early on in my career that being in front of the mic wasn’t the thing I wanted to do.

I didn’t want or need to be the center of attention by becoming a radio host or presenter.

What I wanted was for things to sound good. I got a kick out of making the programmes, not presenting them.

So, I forged a career as a programme maker (Producer) then Executive, then when the politics and nonsense of middle management and corporate life got too much I started my own company.

I made podcasts for other people and got involved in Research & Development and inventing new tech.

I’ve had to present things in the past — filling in for people or because no-one else wanted to do it, and it’s something I can do… it’s just not been something I’ve wanted to do.

Until now.

Now I find myself as the presenter (and Producer and creator and “anything and everything else”) of a brand new media entity:

The Nant Fawr Brews Podcast.

…and Episode 1 has just dropped. I’d love you to have a listen.

Why I Started A Podcast

One of the things I love about podcasting is its ease of access. Anyone can pick a topic, use equipment they probably already have (or could source very cheaply) and become a broadcaster.

If you have something you want to share with the world in an audio format… you can.

And now I have something I want to share.

Granted it will probably only appeal to a very small niche group of people who are passionate about beer, but that’s OK. I’m not doing this to gain thousands of listeners and certainly not as a commercial enterprise.

I’m doing this because in the last couple of years I have developed a passion for home brewing, and the craft beer scene in general.

Everyone I have talked to about beer, craft beer and home brewing has been so positive, interesting and helpful…
