Episode 8 of The Nant Fawr Brews Podcast is Live
…and this is exactly the type of episode I started this podcast to make
--
When you think of starting something new, you need a little vision of it working to push you from what Peter Thiel would characterize as “zero to one”.
When I contemplated starting a small independent beer podcast, just for fun, I also wanted it to serve some kind of purpose, however tiny.
That purpose was to spread the word about — and in doing so, support — the many brilliant independent breweries in Wales (and in my local area of South Wales in particular).
So this episode is very special because it’s the first episode to squarely deliver that vision.
A couple of weeks back I went to visit Lee who runs Dogswindow Brewery in Bridgend, less than an hour away from where I live in Cardiff.
He made me so welcome to his small garage-based brewery. He gave me a tour (didn’t take long!) and spoke so well about how he had set the brewery up and what he was trying to do.
And as for the beer? Well it is extremely high quality, and that’s part of the story behind how I even found this little gem.
A well-respected beer writer here in the UK, Melissa Cole, mentioned Dogswindow as making some of the best beer in South Wales right now, and that was the intel — and the push — I needed to track Lee down and ask him for an interview.
This episode was so much fun to make and I think it is a really good listen to. When you meet and talk to someone who has found exactly what they want to be doing in life, and are doing it to a really high standard… it’s both inspirational and a joy to hear.
So find a 40 minute window in your scheduleone evening, choose a tasty beer, find a nice comfy chair and give this a listen. I honestly think you won’t regret it.
I really appreciate Lee making me so welcome and I think what he has built in Dog’s Window is superb and to be greatly admired.
Massive thanks to everyone who is listening to the podcast, recommending it to others and helping it grow — I really appreciate it.
If you’d like to access all my stories on Medium (and all the other writers too) then consider using this link to become a member. That way, part of your membership fee will go directly toward supporting my writing, and I’d really appreciate that. Thank you.
