Getting Back On The Horse Might Be The Most Important Skill

Get practicing

We will all fail in our lives. At least it gets talked about a little more these days, instead of being brushed under the carpet. It’s part of being a human, it’s impossible to be right / good / on plan all of the time.

It’s what happens next that is important, and it’s all to do with momentum. Fail once (particularly in a familiar way) and it’s all too easy to fall back into a negative pattern, where it actually becomes easier and easier to keep failing rather than deliberately re-start the positive behaviour.

Getting back on the horse is more than just trying again, it’s confronting the very thing you just failed at. Not finding another way. Not forgetting about it. It’s having another go at what just tripped you up. Hard, but vital.
