We need them and we need them real
Unsplash and Pexels are full of pictures of people looking happy… and they are almost all completely unrealistic.
Mates on a beach smiling as the sun sets perfectly over their shoulders. Two friends on swings in an otherwise deserted kids playground on a sunny day. Where is the litter, crying babies, stressed parents and rain?
Yes, we need examples of people who are happy. But happy with all of life’s realities and annoyances in their lives, not removed. We need people who make it through the week with a smile on their faces.
I am sick of image, money and success being the metrics of happiness. It’s a complete scam. I want to see, hear about, talk to, know and be inspired by people who have a normal, busy, annoying (at times) life and see the best in everything.
