Hi Judy. I’ve written regularly on here since August 2020, with over 500 articles published (though at least a quarter of them are shortform). My earnings have fluctuated wildly, mainly due to these factors:

• Medium’s changing policies (I had a massive boost when the bonuses were around, because, by pure chance, one of my articles went big around that time)
• Pure dumb luck (I can’t fathom any clear pattern as to why some of articles “go viral” and some don’t)

Those are the two main factors. Things like writing in publications have a lesser effect I think.
