Holidays Don’t Work For Everyone

Why do we batch stress and relaxation?

The theory goes like this. Work hard most of the year (and yes, work is stressful). Then, take a break. A week or two off. Recharge your batteries ready to… go again.

It doesn’t seem to make much sense even writing it down.

And yet this is the way that most of us tend to organise our lives. Max ourselves out for the majority of the time, then turn the stress tap off for a couple of weeks before it all starts again.

Surely there’s a better way?

I Don’t Like Holidays — There I Said It

Holidays stress me out more than everyday life!

The packing, the organising, the transport, the not-having-the-things-you-need, the family fallouts, the spending crazy amounts of money, the being put in the way of unhelpful eating and drinking choices the whole time.

Wow, that list was easy to write.

It’s not that I don’t like new places, new people, nature, adventure, family time — I love all of those things.

It’s just, packaging it all up into a 1 or 2 week all-at-the-same-time splurge doesn’t do it for me.
