How I Earned $100 in a Month With Only 5 Proper articles
And unlocked a secret to success on this platform
I used to get very snobby about writing earnings articles. It’s selling out. It’s the lowest form of writing. It’s clickbait.
But then it started to dawn on me just how many people on this platform are writing to earn — a vast amount. So really, in writing an earnings article, all you are doing is providing a service to people who want it.
The key thing is to have something genuinely useful to say. And I really think I do. The thing is, a lot of people reading what I have to say either won’t believe it, won’t want to hear it, or will dismiss it.
“Surely, Andy, the key to success on Medium can’t be THAT simple?”
Well, in my experience… it is. And, by reporting back on an experiment I did over the last 31 days, I believe I now have some evidence to support it.
This month I only wrote 5 proper articles. They didn’t get many views. None went viral. And yet I hit that magical $100 earnings mark that, apparently only 6% of writers on this platform ever make it to.
So what did I do? (Hint — it wasn’t just write earnings articles).
