I totally agree. I worked for nearly 20 years in a (supposedly "cool") industry, that, if I'm honest, I didn't like. I managed to carve out a version of my job I liked the most (which actually involved pretty much working in a different industry - long story) but in the end, I didn't find true freedom, and far more meaning, until I left the corporate world and started out on my own. I know it isn't for everyone, but I had to be honest with myself. I would rather have less financially but lose the stress and the "Oh no, not another day of doing this" of a company job in an indsutry I didn't like.
