Don’t assume you know what makes a legend — learn

It’s hard to make it in any professional field. To then go on and reach the top 1% once you’re there, and achieve legendary status… well, that’s almost impossible.

But someone has to do it.

In your context, why can’t it be you?

The reasons — or perhaps, excuses — will be forming in your mind already. You don’t have the resources, you lack the confidence, there’s not an obvious path, and you’re not getting the breaks.

I too assumed that champions had resources, confidence, pathways and luck all in place. But then I learnt about the real story of one of them.

My misconceptions overturned, and the lessons — applicable to my own life and probably yours too— started to pile up.

Let me share them with you here…

The Racer Who Wasn’t Supposed To Make It

Michael Schumacher is the son of a bricklayer. He grew up in a working class German family.

His Dad liked to tinker with machines. He put an old moped motor on a basic home-made frame and gave the homespun go-kart to his son as a present.
