Is It Enjoyable To Write On Here?

A genuine question

This platform is immense, but feels small. The algorithm and design points you toward writers you follow and subjects you’ve read before. Sometimes, it can feel as if the walls are closing in.

If you write to earn, you inadvertently become a cog in a giant business machine. Businesses exist to make profit, however positive their intentions.

Instead of a celebration of writing, opinions and genuine peer-to-peer experience sharing (bypassing old media gatekeepers)… it can become a race to the bottom of who can create the best re-hash of “how to go viral” / “narcissists” / “look how much money I made” / “landfill life lessons”.

I still enjoy this platform, but I see the issues.

My advice (to myself and others) — reset your feed, find new writing… then write for interest not income.
