It Must Be Possible To Do Good And Thrive

I found an article by Bryce Roberts — ‘The End of Indie’. As a teen in the 90’s in the UK, “Indie” meant alternative guitar music, clubs, festivals, buying CD singles (even a few cassettes, remember them?)

That Indie “died” a while ago, so why was this article trending on Medium?

It was about a venture capital company called Indie that tried to do things differently (not growth at all costs) but had to shut down.

Sad.

This bit of an email from someone withdrawing investment really hit me:

Let me rephrase for you:

“You’re trying to do good, but we’re only interested in making as much money as possible”.

When will we wake up? All our futures depend on doing good and thriving. Notice the word money is not even in that sentence.
