It’s So Easy To Lose Progress
Catch yourself spiralling
Anyone who has trained for a physically challenging event, like a Marathon, will tell you that your strength and fitness build up slowly. The process is gradual, and requires hard work. You have to focus all the time to keep making those small steps forward.
Losing fitness and strength on the other hand, that is easy and quick. Go a week without training and suddenly you feel like you are back to square one. Sports-enthusiast friends of mine reckon you lose fitness at least twice as quick as you gain it.
Everyone makes mistakes, has distractions, or has life get in the way. But try to not let an enforced or unintentional break in any self-improvement project turn into a long-term problem. Spot that it is happening and try to re-engage as soon as possible.
