I’ve Decided That Failure Doesn’t Exist

What will you decide today?

Being afraid of “not being good enough” was drilled into me via my education. School called it pushing us to “be the best”, but you can’t have one without the other. If you’re not the best, what are you? You’re a failure.

What I believe is very similar, but the two words I’ve changed make a world of difference:

Do your best

“Be” relies on luck and, often, privelege. “Do”, we control. “The” is inflexible, unrealistic and pressured. “Your” respects unique individual context.

Do your best, and you can’t fail. You might lose, you might not get the job, you might not make the million. But, you won’t have failed…if, you learn, improve and persist. Perhaps failure only exists if you never try?

As long as you do your best, learn and go again, then failure truly doesn’t exist.
