Keep Turning Up And Things Will Turn Up
Don’t get disheartened
We make life too complicated sometimes. Continually beating ourselves up, wanting perfection, wanting other people’s lives. Giving up.
There are some basics to stick to.
Marshall Brickman co-wrote the 1977 film ‘Annie Hall’ with Woody Allen. In an interview to support the release of the film, Marshall was asked what he had learned:
“I have learned one thing. As Woody says, ‘Showing up is 80 percent of life.’ Sometimes it’s easier to hide home in bed. I’ve done both.” — Marshall Brickman via quoteinvestigator.com
We’ve all done both.
Pick a goal. Design a reasonable process. Start. Stick to it. Turn up. Opportunities will come. Recognise them. Take them.
There may not be much you can do about the 20% — luck, natural talent, context, circumstances.
But you are in charge of the 80%, no-one else.
