Me too. I can see why writers at both ends of the spectrum are leaving. The big players got in early, milked the early version of Medium for 100s of thousands, now they're off to find the next big platform in early stages where a big portable following and some smarts can find some high-paying loopholes. The new starters get put off by the 100 follower thing and the idea that perhaps the "glory days" are gone (tho I suspect that is just the leaving big player covering their tracks). But I think there is an opportunity for the writers in the middle to stick with the platform and embrace the new opportunities.
