Recent history has made it harder than ever to maintain relationships, so when you do get the chance to see people who you care about… take that chance.
Camping is a brilliantly socially-distanced holiday, especially if it stays dry. Everyone is outside when they are together and it’s only for sleeping that each family goes into their own indoor space.
I recently went away with 3 other families, but I remember precious few proper one-on-one conversations with the very friends I craved connection with for months. There was always a job to be done or a thing to be planned. Some of the group managed it — it was because they were more deliberate.
The jobs and distractions will expand to fill the whole time if you let them. Carve out time for connection.
