Get out of your river
Us humans, we’re creatures of habit. We like to think of ourselves as adventurous and creative but really we are utterly predictable, unless we make a conscious effort not to be.
Not to be ageist, but look at the generation above you and you’re likely to see them as pretty set in their ways. They like to do things in a certain manner and for life to be as expected.
No alarms and no surprises.
The scary thing is that if you asked the generation below whether the same applies when they think of you, they would almost certainly say “Yes”.
There’s nothing wrong, per se, with living very repeatable and routine lives. At some stages of life (like when you have a young family) it’s what keeps you sane. But there is one major drawback:
You miss out on so much.
