Positivity Pays
Many of us have been working alone recently, via choice or necessity. You lose the office banter — it’s harder to create a company culture.
That can be good.
Whatever policies management implement for a positive work environment, the atmosphere in the offices and corridors is often more negative.
A small amount of negativity is powerful and spreads.
Working alone, you still get annoyed, want to moan, and have days you don’t feel like it. But, you don’t have to absorb anyone else’s frustrations. You also choose how, when and to who, you express.
I’ve just finished a challenging project. There were times I wanted to scream and shout or send angry emails. I even wrote one once, but didn’t send it (this is a great technique — try it).
I came out of the project with good output, warm recommendations, a healthy bonus and an unexpected gift. Positivity pays.
