Really interesting way of looking at it. It never made any sense to me to think of myself as wealthy just because I'm a homeowner. I think the term homeowner is usually misleading - in most cased the bank owns most of it. I think the accessible net worth is a really helpful concept, though, of course, its exact definition will vary on a case-by-case basis as others have pointed out. Really enjoyable article.
