Really powerful article. I'm currently trying to address my relationship with food. There are some overlaps, though, of course, drinking alcohol to excess is far more dangerous in terms of decision-making than eating to excess. There's been times when I've really been struggling with food where I've wished I could just stop eating for good (obviously impossible) for the very reason you make so eloquently - not facing a new decision each day, just carrying on.
