The world loves startup founders. Part of it is the obsession with money we all suffer from. People automatically assume entrepreneurship is a guaranteed path to riches (it isn’t).

Another aspect that’s intriguing to outsiders about the startup path is the sense of freedom and, what I’m going to call… “the air of the magician”.

Startups create something where before there was nothing. That’s magic, right?

The thing is, magic is tricky to pull off. And freedom is great, as long as you know where to go and what to do.

If there’s one lesson I’ve learnt since becoming an entrepreneur/solopreneur/ startup founder (whatever you want to call me, they all apply)… it’s that the journey is very, very bizarre.

Never mind twists and turns, try somersaults, free-fall, rocket blasts and barrel rolls. Just when you think you know what you’re doing, the whole game changes.

Sometimes overnight. Sometimes in a minute.

A Big Mess… That’s Leading Somewhere

Back in 2019, before you-know-what, I’d left corporate life (great move — I thoroughly recommend it) and started a pretty basic little one-person…
