Sorry Needs To Be More Than Just A Word
It needs action
We’re taught to say sorry before we can even speak. As a baby, if we instinctively grab a toy (which another kid just happens to be holding) we get told to say sorry… even though we can’t even form the word.
It continues throughout life. If we do anything wrong — particularly if it affects someone else — say sorry (whether you mean it or not).
It’s as if there is magic in the word itself. But there isn’t. It’s just a word. The magic is in action. Sorry only starts to make sense if we mean it, understand why we need to say it, then take action to try not to make the same mistake again.
We will make mistakes, forever — we’re human. But we need to join action to the word sorry for it to mean anything.
