The Inches That Turn Into Miles
Little by little cuts both ways
You’ll find loads of self-improvement articles talking about compounding . Invest in your happiness as you do with money. Write a little each day. Exercise a little each day. Be grateful a little each day. The benefits add up on top of each other, making each day more powerful than the last.
But, it works the other way too.
If you’re doing something unhelpful, or a relationship has had negative elements for a while, then unfortunately, every day you don’t make change, the problems compound in just the same way.
We think of our lives as rigid, but they’re fluid, in constant flux, layers of positive and negative forces layering on each other, shifting, forming contours, then, eventually fixed shapes.
The good news — we control our thoughts and actions. The inches and the layers start with us.
