The Line Between Motivation And Obsession

Only you decide where is healthy

One of the great individual choices in life is how far to push it. Do you want to be decent at a few things or elite at one? If you throw all your efforts in one direction, are you happy to pay the price elsewhere?

Us humans are lazy. It’s probably an evolutionary thing. Back when food in vs energy expended could be a life and death situation, why hunt an animal unnecessarily?

Extend it further. If you earn enough to live, why do you need millions more? If you’re already fit, why hammer the gym every day? The answer may be: “Because I want to”

That’s reasonable. We are all individuals. But here’s the thing. That “line” between motivation and obsession is different for everyone. So don’t judge others whose line is nowhere near yours.
