The Most Important Rule Of Life Is The Hardest To Follow

But we must all try every single day

Like it or not, with every single action you take, you’re setting an example that someone else can and will follow.

Even if we feel like the least important person on the planet, there are still people looking at us, observing and — consciously or subconsciously — emulating us.

In the home, at work, at school, in public, online — everywhere we are — how we behave is our impact on others.

Remember, actions speak louder than words.

Unless we plan to live our entire lives alone cut off from society then there’s one rule we must try to follow every single day…

It’s Not About You

This afternoon I listened to a powerful story told by a 61 year old man, Mike, who works in the UK water industry. He’s gay, and he was telling his story and reflecting on how the world has changed in 50 years.

His words were punctuated by depressing moments in his life when he was subject to the prejudice of others.

One time, in the 1980’s his best friend (who didn’t know he was gay) told him he thought homosexuals deserved to die of AIDS because they were so promiscuous.
