The Sushi Restaurant Conveyor Belt Of Opportunity

A sushi restaurant with food travelling past other people constantly seems a lot odder concept today than it did a year ago.

In a big company, you’re on the conveyor belt. Not in control, packaged up, one of many, waiting for the gods of company politics, credit-grabbing or pure luck, to whisk you away to better things.

As a freelancer, solopreneur or consultant (or however you label “on your own”)… you step off the conveyor belt, and take a seat in the restaurant.

It might not feel like it, but opportunities pass before you constantly. But they’re moving. They might come back around, they might not — someone else could grab them.

Once you take one, you need to concentrate on eating it, not just grabbing more.

So choose wisely. But don’t get disheartened. This sushi restaurant is still very much open.
