Three Ways to Get Yourself to Exercise When You Don’t Want To
…because we all know it’s essential, but also really hard
The unfortunate fact is that if we want to be healthy, we need to exercise.
Yes, there are always exceptions on the edge of medical contexts and human experiences but it’s as close to a general undisputed rule of life as you can get.
Exercise is good for you. Physically and mentally.
It should be as natural for us to do regularly and without fail as cleaning our teeth or doing the washing. Both tasks are slightly annoying or boring, but we manage to get them done because they are essential.
Unfortunately we don’t quite achieve the same level of consistency with exercise.
Here are three ways to persuade yourself to get it done, even when (especially when) you don’t feel like it…
Do It First
I’m sure you’ve all heard of frog-eating, right? It’s a concept made famous by the Brian Tracy book called — unsurprisingly — ‘Eat That Frog’.
The idea is simple. Do your hardest tasks first. That way you don’t procrastinate and you don’t need to worry about them any more.
