I’ve got bad news for you. The world is set up for you to put on weight. Just go about your life without being watchful and I guarantee you will gradually get bigger.

And it won’t be your fault.

But you’ll still be overweight.

You’ll still get the physical and mental downsides. And, even if you choose to live happily overweight, and take the (perfectly reasonable) approach that you can live healthily at any weight (weight isn’t the only measure of health)… you’ll still be overweight.

I think this is actually a sad indictment of the society we live in. Unless you consciously make an effort to manage your weight, you’ll get fat.

Just live a regular life, do the things normal people do, eat the kind of things others do, socialise in a mainstream way… and you will end up overweight.

So really, the first step of any weight loss plan is acceptance. Accept that the world is not set up for you to succeed. In fact, normal life will make it incredibly hard to attain, then maintain a healthy weight.

In the words of Metallica: “Sad but true.”

Fun = Unhealthy Food
