Turn “Hey, We Should” Into “Remember When We Did?”

Don’t just talk about it, organise it

One of the biggest joys in life is looking forward to something. Conversely, it’s frustrating when amazing things get talked about, but never happen.

A single word bridges the chasm between these two opposite outcomes — action.

There’s a mate I see occasionally, at the school gate or dropping off at birthday parties. We often talk about cool things we could do with the kids. Take them to football. Go on a camping trip. But they never happen.

One lesson I have learned from the last 18 months is to move from planning to doing. Take a chance, make a happiness investment, book the tickets. Push (gently) people for answers and commitments.

We don’t know that we will always be able to do these things. If you can think it, act, make it happen.
