We’re More In Touch With Our Ancient Ancestors Than Ever

For one ridiculously simple reason

We’re used to things progressing. Technology gets quicker and smarter, machines and tools we use become more efficient. The capitalist profit-model encourages companies to keep thinking of ways to make our lives easier.

And then, a huge step backwards.

All our normal routines are thrown out. Something that was a conversational point, or an inconvenience has now become vital to us.

The weather.

Indoors no. Outside yes. Once again, the weather’s in charge. We have rediscovered a link to our ancestors. Sun, rain and wind controlled what they could grow and eat, how they could travel, even where they could live.

Aside from the odd washed-out social occasion, it’s good to have that link to simpler times and be forced to reconnect with the scale and rhythms of the natural world.
