What If We’ve Forgotten How To Be Friends?
Everyone has changed
Like a home-brewed beer maturing (it tastes awful 2 weeks after bottling, 3 months later it’s an elixir) we’ve altered over the last 12 months. We won’t realise all the ways.
When we resume friendships face-to-face, will they still work?
Friendship fuel has been different for months. Screens and phones instead of in-person shared activities. No news instead of constant catching up. Worry instead of joy.
What happens when you switch fuel? Start eating better and your health improves. Put diesel in a petrol car and you’re going nowhere fast.
Plenty of us have reflected and made changes in attitude, priorities and outlook. Will we still have things in common with old friends? Perhaps we’ll find new friends?
Friendship is about meeting each other half-way, even if that half-way is somewhere different now.
