Which Side Of The Work Line Do You Live On?
The light side or the dark side?
You know those DNA tests you can get? You spit into a little tube, pay your money, send it off to a lab in Scandinavia and 6 weeks later they tell you that you’re 87% North European, 16 % Latin American and the rest they’re not sure about.
Let’s say I sat you down for an hour, and we discussed what work means to you…
Then I sent the results off to my own version of a Scandinavian lab (my brain) and 6 minutes later told you my guess at how much you see work as a “good” thing and how much as a “bad” thing.
How would your results come out?
23% good, 69% bad and the rest not sure?
It’s worth thinking about, because “work” is guaranteed to be a part of all of our lives for the rest of our lives. Even if we choose to ignore it, the world will define us by it:
Are you working at the moment? How’s work going? What are you working on? Have you stopped working now? How will that go down at work?
So how we “see” work is important. And here’s my thesis — the more you can exist on the light side of work, the happier you’ll be. Let me explain…
