Words matter, and I find the idea of eating clean a bit problematic. A carrot when it comes out of the ground is dirty, and rightly so. The soil has given it the nutrients to grow. I don't have a suggestion or a solution, just noting that it is odd that "clean" has been so synonymous with "good" in the context of food.
