It won’t work for everyone
Medium is a funny old place. Self-publish and you’re free, but reach out to new audiences less. Submit to publications and you bend to them. Neither feels optimal.
Anyone who publishes your article and/or gives you their feedback deserves your thanks, but you have to know when your writing and a publication is not a match made in heaven.
It’s OK. In fact, it’s great. One of the best things about Medium is the variety. Different voices, opinions, priorities.
Write your way. Some will balk at grammatical imperfections. That’s fair enough. Others will celebrate your unique voice. Some will do both.
I personally don’t mind an article being non-Grammarly friendly (which can often end up bland) as long as it says something to me.
There are no rights and no wrongs. Just keep doing you. And keep writing.
