Yep, agreed Alan. I think in my situation the big boss had (rightly) spotted that there were loads of tasks that didn’t need to be done at all — that’s why he asked us all to identify things to dump. Doing it publicly to all staff was great too, it made the process very democratic. Otherwise you find managers happily shedding tasks down the pyramid and those at the bottom get swamped even more.
