You Have To Believe That You Will Get What You Deserve

Stay patient and stay positive

Luck plays a massive part in our lives. As Annie Duke describes, when it goes with us, we deny it:

“I got the promotion because I worked hard, no luck involved”

When it goes against us we over-emphasize it:

“My colleague got the promotion because they were in the right place at the right time — so lucky”

On the radio last night, the soccer pundits were talking about final league positions. This stuck in my head:

“Take “deserve” out of the equation. If you play a whole season of games, everyone plays each other twice, home and away, then luck evens out, injuries even out, and you’re left exactly where you deserve to be.”

Be reassured. Keep trying. Stay patient. Stay positive. You will get what you deserve. One day.
