You May Not Be The Best Judge Of What Fuels You
If someone tells you, listen
Two comments from friends have landed with me recently. They’re stuck in my brain, so I know they’re important.
1 — “You seem more comfortable in your own skin these days”
2 — “You talk about solitude a lot, but you love being around people”
We think we know what gets the best from us, but we can get ourselves wrong.
1 — Work. I left corporate culture and started my own company. I thought I was doing OK at best (we still have a roof over our heads and food to eat) but others can see that this way of working suits me.
2 — Happiness. I often seek solitude, but socialising brings out the best in me, and I’d forgotten that.
People know you, care about you and gift you their insight. Listen.
